KENNEBUNK- Mark A. Emery, 63, of 21 River Locks Rd., died peacefully at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor.
He was born Jan. 17, 1962 in Biddeford, Me, son of the late Richard M. Emery and Irene G. (Knight) Emery. He was a 1980 graduate of Kennebunk High and graduated with a BA in liberal arts from the University of Maine at Farmington.
He was a long-time bus driver for Ledgemere Transport of Wells from 2007 to 2023 and a part-time trip driver for the Biddeford School Dept. 2023 to Aug. of 2024. He really loved his job driving the students.
He enjoyed time spent with family; it was very important to him. In his younger years, he was into and good at most any outdoor activity such as tennis, cross-country skiing, biking, camping and hiking. He also liked watching old movies. He was a big Red Sox and Patriots fan too wearing one or the other of the hats all the time!
Surviving is his mother, Irene (Knight) Emery of Kennebunk;2 brothers-Doug and wife Melissa and their daughter Maggie of Littleton, Colorado and Brian of Kennebunk;1 sister Deb Robinson and husband Clint and their two daughters Katrina and Kelsey of Phillips; 1 Uncle Dick Knight and his wife Betsy of Kennebunk and he has several cousins on both sides of the family.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Kennebunk.
