MOULTONBOROUGH --- It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of Hunter John Lucas, 31, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, who left this world doing one of things that he loved the most - diving in the water that always brought him peace, joy, and freedom.
Hunter was born on November 23, 1993, in Laconia, NH, the son of the late John A. Lucas and Joanne (Caruso) Lucas.
Hunter was a man whose presence lit up every room and whose spirit left an imprint on everyone he met. He had a contagious smile, infectious laughter, and a heart as big as the ocean he loved. Hunter lived each day with an emotional purpose. The things he cherished the most were to have a good time and share that joy with others.
Whether he was out on the water, soaking in the peace that it brought him, looking at the mountains, or aiming with precision at a target from his cherished collection, he found love and passion in those moments that made him feel most alive. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his generosity. Hunter was always the first to offer a helping hand, never expecting anything in return. He was just happy to be there for anyone who needed him.
To know Hunter was to be with him, to share a good story, and to feel like you mattered. His light hearted spirit, his kindness and his zest for life will be missed beyond measure. He liked nothing more than to be with Matt Stevens and the boys who he considered his brothers.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship carried on by countless lives that he has touched. May we all honor his memory by living each day with a little more laughter, a little more joy and a lot more heart just as he would have done.
Hunter was predeceased by his father John Lucas, mother Joanne Caruso, and maternal grandparents Irenen and Albert Caruso. He is survived by his wife Brittany Lucas, along with extended family and friends that he considered family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 starting at 11:00 a.m. the Squam Valley Masonic Association Hall, 1 US-3, Holderness, NH.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date with immediate family and his friends that he considered family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you share a story or a memory to keep Hunter's spirit alive in the hearts of those who loved him most.
