Obituary

Claire L. Biron, 89, of North Smithfield died Thursday July 24, 2025 at home. Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Louis and Noella (Duval) Gagne. She was raised in Woonsocket and graduated from St. Clare Girls High School with the class of 1955. She lived in Bellingham for many years before returning to Woonsocket. In more recent years she resided in North Smithfield.
In her earlier yeas Claire worked at Tupperware and at a local jewelry store. She was employed by Boston Scientific Corporation in Milford for many years before retiring.
Claire was an avid bingo player. She was an active member of several local organizations including the North Smithfield, St. Agatha and St. Joseph senior citizens clubs.
Claire was the wife of the late Ransford A. “Roy” Conley. They were married for several years until his untimely passing after battling cancer in October of 1963. Claire was widowed at the age of 28 and displayed her special traits of courage and resilience in raising her children as a single parent.
Claire is survived by her five children including her three daughters Linda M. Conley of Woonsocket, Wanda L. Kopka and her husband Scott of Foster, Sandra A. Conley of Woonsocket and two sons Gary R. Biron of Vermont and Wayne E. Biron and his wife Natalie of Chepachet. She was the sister of the late George Gagne and Anne Champagne. Claire is survived by her five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews and their families.
In accordance with her wishes services for Claire are private.
