Jacqueline “Doan” Richardson, age 55, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Canton, GA. Born on September 3, 1969, in Tifton, GA, Doan was a beacon of dedication and strength throughout her lifetime. Her spirited personality and genuine love for life were infectious to all who knew her.

Doan graduated from Irwin County High School, Class of 1987. Following her innate curiosity and intelligence, she attended Wiregrass Technical College where she received her degree in mechanical drafting. Her admirable ambition didn't stop there; she furthered her education by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from Kennesaw State University.

Doan's faith was a guiding light from her early years, symbolized by her baptism at Ocilla Baptist Church in Ocilla, GA. Her spirituality was the cornerstone of her existence, casting a glow on her everyday actions and decisions.

An ardent lover of all living things, Doan cherished her dog, Sam, with all her heart. Her adoration didn't stop with her beloved pet; she had an encompassing love for all animals. Her tender care for her garden was evident in the lush flowers and thriving plants that surrounded her home, a testament to her nurturing nature.

The beach and the ocean held a special place in Doan's heart. The serene expanse of the waves and the warm embrace of the sun served as a backdrop to many of her happiest moments. In every seashell's whisper and every ocean breeze's caress, Doan found peace and solace.

Despite her idyllic interests, Doan was fiercely passionate about the rare cancer that ultimately took her life, Neuroendocrine Tumor (NET). It was a cause she advocated for with vigor, striving to raise awareness and advocate for those affected. Her courage in the face of adversity was nothing short of inspiring.

As we celebrate the life of Doan Richardson, we remember a woman whose zest for life was matched only by her love for God and her family. Her legacy is engraved not just in the accomplishments and memories she leaves behind, but in the warm and passionate spirit with which she approached every day.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glynn Thompson.

Doan is survived by her loving husband since July 24, 2010, Drew Richardson; mother, Ginger Thompson (Robert); sisters, Stacy Hyler (Paul) and Kristin Hicks (Brennen); sister-in-law, Katherine Sammons (Stephanie); mother-in-law, Janet Richardson; father-in-law, Bill Richardson; and nieces and nephews, Mason Hicks, Augustus Hyler, Hawthorne Hyler, Pyper Hicks, Ewan Anderson and Callum Anderson.
