WEBSTER – Charles F. “Fran” Meagher, 77, died Monday, July 28, 2025 at home with his family at his side.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Katherine G. “Kathy” (Konkel) Meagher; a son, Andrew L. Palmerino of Shelton, CT; a daughter, Christine L. Loper of Webster; 4 grandchildren, Dominic Palmerino, Hunter Palmerino, Michael Loper and Joshua Palmerino; 1 great-grandson, Caeden Palmerino; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son Joshua M. Meagher in 2013 and by his sister Kathleen
Baca in 2014.
He was born on February 20, 1948 in Webster, the son of Charles M. and Mary E.
(Donovan) Meagher and was a life-long resident. He was a 1966 graduate of Bartlett High School and a 1969 graduate of Ellis Tech in Killingly, CT.
Mr. Meagher first worked as a mold maker for Ivanhoe Tool and Die in Thompson, CT and then nights as the package preparer in the garage at Deary Brothers in Dudley. He was an assistant electrician with Guilford Industries in Sutton. He was employed at P. Gioioso & Sons General Contractors in Boston for 6 years. He was the general manager of Tents for Rent for 12 years. He retired in 2020 as an insurance adjuster for Independent Claims Services.
He was a member of Saint Louis Church and the Singletary Rod and Gun Club in Sutton. He enjoyed working outdoors, cutting wood and especially spending time with his family.
His funeral will be held on Friday, August 1, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Louis Church 14 Lake Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
