Richard A. “Rick” Sullivan, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 7th at home. He was 53. A lifelong resident of Somerville, Richard was the son of Richard A. and the late Elaine (Castaldo) Sullivan.
Rick was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. A true son of Somerville, he was educated there and became a part of the community by working in his family’s convenience store on Medford St., a welcoming neighborhood hangout where people could discuss what was going on in the city. Later he was a Zamboni driver at the MDC rink and served his city by working at the polls on election days. Rick was a man who valued both his Sullivan family and his civic duties.
The beloved son of Richard A. Sullivan and the late Elaine (Castaldo) Sullivan, who passed away in 2015, Rick was a dear brother to Ryan W. Sullivan and Erin Blauvelt and her partner Antonio Restrepo. He was a loving uncle to Haley "Jax" and Michael. He was a devoted nephew of Diane Fabiano and her daughter Patrika Federico.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, August 1 from 11 AM – 1 PM, followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 1 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
