Wanda "Lynn" Ridenhour
September 18, 1941- June 29, 2025
Wanda "Lynn" (Blevins) Ridenhour, 83, formerly of Anderson, passed away June 29, 2025 at Morrison Woods Health Campus in Muncie, following a series of health challenges.
Lynn was born September 18, 1941 in a home in Lansing, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the daughter of Luther Wayne and Virginia Carolina Blevins. She attended East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Anderson College (now Anderson University) in 1963. While attending Anderson College, Lynn met the love of her life, Jan-Michael Ridenhour. They were married in June 1965.
Lynn taught elementary school in Indiana and Michigan before she and Jan moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma to plant South Sand Springs Church of God in the late 60's. Along with teaching, being a pastor's wife was one of the great joys of her life. After nearly ten years at South Sand Springs CHoG, Lynn and Jan returned to Anderson, where Lynn accepted the position of Director of Children's Ministries for the Board of Christian Education of the Church of God in 1975. Always the educator, her new position and her passion for teaching children led her to create early childhood teaching curriculum used by the Church of God for nearly two decades, as well as co-creating "Kid's Place", an interactive educational experience for children each year during the Church of God annual convention in Anderson.
During this time, Lynn and Jan each earned their Master of Religious Education degrees from the Anderson College School of Theology in 1982.
Following her career with the Board of Christian Education, Lynn became a certified financial planner in the 90's and operated Ridenhour & Associates with her husband until his death in 1999, and then on her own until she retired in 2003. After retiring, Lynn traveled and relished her role as "Mimi" to her beloved grandson, Nico.
Lynn is survived by her son, Cory Ridenhour of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter Mica (Tony) Simeone of Noblesville; grandson and primary joy of her life, Nico Simeone; sister Ann Lightsey and brother Jerry Blevins of Charlotte, North Carolina; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and older brother Larry Blevins, and younger sister Carol Ann.
Private family services took place at East Maplewood Cemetery, with a formal celebration of her life to follow later this year.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Bethany Pointe Health Campus (Anderson) and the staff of Morrison Woods Health Campus (Muncie) for their kind, compassionate care for Lynn in the final season of her life.
