Stephen P. "Steve" Connolly, a resident of Braintree and formerly of Reading and Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 78 years of age.
Steve was born in Boston on February 22, 1947, a son of the late Stephen Connolly and Bridget (O'Keefe) Connolly. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1965. Steve worked as an installer for Western Electric for 40 years and then retired from Lucent Technologies. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, traveling to Marco Island in Florida and watching his team the New England Patriots. He was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association and the 520 Club of Charlestown.
Family was paramount in Steve's life, and he enjoyed all the special moments he shared with his wife Linda and took great pride and enjoyment always being around his children and especially watching his grandchildren grow up.
Steve is the adored husband of 51 years to Linda M. (McDonald) Connolly. He is the devoted father of Shawn Connolly and his wife Theresa and Kristin Kelly and her husband Brian. He is the loving PA to Sydney, Faith, Ashley, Stephen and Cameron Connolly and Caitlin and Emily Kelly. He is the beloved brother of the late Kathleen "Kay" Sheehan, Barbara Mele, Edward Connolly and Eugene Connolly. Loving brother-in-law of Elaine "Sissy" Connolly. Brother-in-law of Steve McDonald, Dave McDonald and Billy McDonald. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Steve's visiting hours on Thursday morning, July 31, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 12 Noon. His burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
