On July 25, 2025, beloved wife and sister, Marcella Gwen (Fyock) Scorza, 69, of Clymer
“Prosperity Hill,” PA went home to the arms of her Lord and Savior surrounded by family.
Gwen was born on August 26, 1955 in Indiana, PA to George W. and Maxine (Greene)
Fyock.
She was a 1973 graduate of Purchase Line High School and attended I. U. P.
Gwen married Ferdinand “Fred” F. Scorza on July 2, 1994 and they recently celebrated

An active member of the Purchase Line Church of the Brethren for most of her life, she served on various boards and taught VBS and Sunday School classes, and was in charge of the Childrens Department and programs.
An accomplished singer, she was the church choir director and member, as well as the church chorister. For over fifteen years, alongside her husband Fred, together they oversaw the church VBS musical program. Fred would compose the music and play the piano, while Gwen shared her voice in song to praise the Lord.
More recently the couple attended Calvary Baptist Church near Clymer, PA.
Recognized as one of the longest working employees of IRMC/former Indiana Hospital with forty-seven years of service, Gwen was an Account Maintenance Representative in patient billing. Over the course of her career, she had also worked as a medical transcriptionist and a clinical medical secretary. Her first job following high school was with Greensteel in Dixonville, PA.
Some of her favorite pastimes were knitting, crocheting, crafting and painting windows at Christmastime. Gwen could spend hours reading mystery books and watching mystery programs and movies.
She thoroughly loved spending time with her family, especially in her role as a proud aunt attending the band, sporting and scouting events, and activities of her nephews and nieces.
