Elaine B. Rossetti, a life-long resident of Franklin, Mass died peacefully and surrounded by her family on July 25th, 2025. Elaine was 97 years old, and was married to Willian J. Rossetti, who passed away in 2005, and also a life-time Franklin resident. This popular and beautiful couple were married for 56 years.
Born in Franklin April 21, 1928, Elaine was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Beatrice (Dulude) Belleville. Elaine grew up on Washington Street where the family had a small poultry and egg business.
Elaine is survived by her three children, Gwynne Hunchard, and her husband Bruce, of Franklin and Daytona Beach, Florida, Steven Rossetti and his wife Dale, of Franklin and John “Jack” Rossetti and his wife, Denise of Franklin .
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jesse Rossetti, William (Billy) Rossetti and his wife Jeanette (Spencer) Rossetti, Julia (Rossetti) Notturno and her husband Mike Notturno, Joseph Hunchard and his wife Cydney, Christopher Hunchard and his wife Jodi, and Lyn Hunchard-Kilroy and her husband, Jeff Kilroy.
Great -grandchildren; Sophia Lou Notturno, Ava Kilroy, and Brynleigh Kilroy.
Elaine was the sister of the late Eunice Sarapas of Franklin and leaves behind many nieces and nephews across the country.
Elaine was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1945, and was later employed by The Franklin Mill Store and The Fabric Place Drapery Room where she made custom window dressings and draperies. She also made a comfortable living making custom draperies out of her family home on Union Street where she owned and operated “Window Art by Elaine” from 1985 until 2005.
She was a former member of the Catholic Women’s Club, the Franklin Trail Blazers Walking Club, the Alden Club, and honorary member of the Franklin Garden Club. Also, a part-time resident of Dennis Mass, Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling the globe with Bill, walking the beaches of Dennis, a love of the ocean and all things gardening. She could often be found tending to her gardens and working around the yard at home and down the Cape. She was also a very talented painter, and excelled at needle craft, oil painting, crocheting, making her own clothes, home décor, and furniture refinishing.
Elaine was a longtime communicant of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Franklin, Mass and Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, Mass.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30 in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00a.m.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 29 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin from 4-7 p.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
