James “JJ” L. Moses, Jr., 50, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, July 23rd in UMass Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his sister, Sherry Moses; one niece, Keymora Moses, both of Boston; two aunts, Emma Brown and Robin LeShore both of Worcester; four uncles, Columbus Steele, Jerry LeShore, Ricky LeShore, and Tony LeShore; his caregiver and friend, Maggie and his Seven Hills family; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Gail (LeShore) Moses; his grandfather, Willie James LeShore; and an uncle, Jimmy LeShore. James was also predeceased by his grandmother and best friend, Ruth LeShore, who was his favorite cook, "rub it on down J".
He was born in Boston, the son of James L. Sr. and Gail (LeShore) Moses. James was a bright light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him—a kind soul with a generous heart and a spirit that radiated joy, laughter, and love. JJ was a true lover of life. His passion for baseball was unmatched, and he was a devoted Red Sox fan through every season, win or lose. Whether he was cheering from the stands, always wearing a baseball cap, watching the game with friends, or simply talking stats, JJ’s love for the game brought people together. Equally, JJ had a deep love for music, especially the legendary Michael Jackson. Music wasn’t just a hobby for JJ—it was a part of who he was. But above all, JJ will be remembered for his boundless kindness. He gave the best hugs, the kind that made you feel truly seen and safe. He never harbored malice, never spoke ill of others, and always looked for the good in people. In a world that often moves too fast, JJ reminded us of the power of gentleness and connection.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched with his warmth, laughter, and unwavering kindness.
