Obituary

LACONIA----Anita Louise Lake, 78, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord.

Anita was born April 6, 1947, in Lynn, MA, the daughter of the late Ralph and Anita (Gendron) Jackson.

At a young age, Anita’s family moved to Swamscott, MA where she attended local schools and graduated from Swamscott High School.

In 1970, Anita met Charles Lake, and the following year they were married. In addition to raising their family, Anita worked assembling components at Noyes Fiberoptics.
Anita had a strong faith and was an active member of the Belmont Baptist Church. Over the years, she served on the Trustees, the Executive Committee, and as Treasurer. She had a beautiful singing voice which she shared from the front of the church never from the choir.

She loved early mornings, sitting on the porch, sharing coffee with her husband while they reflected together on the happenings of the day before. She was delighted when she also could watch the birds coming and going in the yard. Anita was incredibly selfless, always giving to others. Each year she would make a multitude of scarves, mittens, hats, and blankets, most of which were given to the Salvation Army, Veteran’s home, local schools and churches for those in need.

Family was most important to her. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Charles Lake; sons Christian (Lori) Lake of Laconia, NH, Charles and Chad Lake of Laconia, NH; daughters Billie-Jo (Kevin) Kokx of Franklin, NH, Annie Smith of Laconia, NH; grandchildren Lydia Whitby, Thomas Kokx, Jordan and Scarlet Lake, brothers Ralph (Judy) Jackson of Amesbury, MA, Kenneth (Eleanor) Jackson of Jacksonville, FL, Robert (Patricia) of Saugus, MA, sister Ruth Jackson of Peabody, MA; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
