Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Tremblay, 90, of Salem, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Born in Beverly on December 20, 1934, Betty was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Lyons. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of nearly 70 years, Robert Tremblay, and her sister, Nancy Burns.
A lifelong resident of Salem, Betty was a woman of deep faith, warmth, and generosity.
A longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church, she dedicated much of her life to giving back to others. Betty was a committed volunteer for numerous community organizations throughout her life, including the YMCA and Salem Hospital. Her kindness and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Above all, Betty treasured time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose joy came from gatherings filled with laughter, storytelling, and the company of those she loved.
She is survived by her three daughters and two son-in-laws: Joan Tremblay of Peabody, MA; Susan and Bud Gallagher of Westport, ME; Robin and Jim Mead of Naples, ME; and her son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Joanne Tremblay of Beverly, MA. Betty also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as her brothers, Bill Lyons of Locust Grove, VA and Jim Lyons of Peabody, MA. She will also be deeply missed by many extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday July 30th 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem.. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 29thfrom 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem. Burial, at a later date, will be private.
