Obituary

Joan R. (Lyons) McLeish of Foxboro, formerly of Dedham, passed away on August 22, 2006 at the Stanley Tippett House in Needham after a brief illness. She was 74. Mrs. McLeish was born in Hyde Park in 1932 and was the daughter of the late Owen and Mary (Sullivan) Lyons. She was a resident of Dedham for many years before moving to Foxboro. She worked for the Baker Shoe Company for many years.

She was the wife of the late Alexander McLeish. She was the devoted mother of Alexander W. McLeish and his wife Patricia of Attleboro, James O. McLeish and his wife Diane of Dedham and Karen J. O’Brien of Foxboro. She was the loving grandmother of Alexander III, Justin, James Jr., Ashley and Courtney McLeish, and Brianna McCarthy and Madison O’Brien.

Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Saturday at 8:00 AM. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
