It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joseph J. Savino “Joe”, 72, of Derry, NH. Born in Boston, MA on January 17, 1953, and raised in Woburn, MA Joe was the eldest son of the late John F. Savino and the late Sally (Russo-Gagliardi) Dunham.
Joe graduated from Woburn High School and started his career at his father’s business, Savino Oil, in the North End. He continued through the heating industry eventually running his own company. In addition, Joe was an entrepreneur at heart and was never afraid to take a risk; he found joy in starting up new ventures in the entertainment industry.
Joe was known to all as a larger-than-life person and his presence made an impression on everyone he met. To know Joe was to love him; whether that was watching his favorite movies, listening to his favorite music, participating in his popular radio show, or playing cards and games, just being around him you knew you were going to have a good, memorable time. Joe loved being around his loved ones, going out to for fine dining, traveling, camping or just being with his dogs.
Joe is survived by his wife, Ana (Franchini) Savino, their daughter Rebecca Savino, step-son Artur Bercan and his wife Christyane Coelho, step-daughter Karina Bercan; his second wife Lidia (Zino) Savino, adopted step-daughter Jennifer Savino, step-sons Guy Zino and Ronnie Bardah; his first wife Joanne (Bell) Pillman, their daughter Theresa Alvino and sons, John J. Savino and his wife Stacy Savino and Joseph P. Savino and his wife Tara Savino; as well as his sister Jody Bardenhauer. Joe is also survived by his ten grandchildren: Brianna Savino, Massimo Alvino, Angelina Savino, Marco Alvino, Sophia Savino, Milla Savino, Joseph L. Savino, Isabelle Savino, John J. Savino “Johnny” and Marcello Alvino. Joe is further survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and family members. Joe’s beloved dogs; Rocky, Abby, Puppo and Mario will miss his devotion & love along with the rest of his family and loved ones.
In lieu of traditional funeral services, the family will be having a celebration of Joe’s life at the Hilton Woburn on Saturday August 2nd from 5-10PM.
