Jacqueline E. Mitchell, a lifelong Medford resident, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, following a short period of declining health. She was 82. Born in Medford she was the beloved daughter of the late Evelyn J. (DiStasio) and James Marotta.
Jacqueline was raised and educated in Medford. She worked for over twenty years with the former Medford Savings Bank and retired from Shore Education Collaborative where she worked as a bookkeeper for more than thirty years. A devoted mother and grandmother, Jacqueline cherished time with her family and especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. Jacqueline was also very proud to be a breast cancer survivor. She will fondly be remembered for her kindness, charitable giving, and caring for others. She will be greatly missed.
Jacqueline is survived by her devoted children; Dennis J. Mitchell of Tewksbury, Everett P. Mitchell of Medford, and Jodi LaFond of Peabody. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew, Christopher and Emily Mitchell, Courtney and Jessica Mitchell, Cole Shaheen, Savannah Mitchell, Tristan LaFond, and great grandchild Gracelyn Coleman. She was also a loving caregiver to Ellen and Elicia Shea. Cherished sister of Lurlene Smallcomb of Tewksbury, James Marotta and his wife Denise of Hingham. Further survived by several nieces and many extended family members.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, July 28th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
