Harvey Bruce Walk, 72, of Beverly, MA and formerly of Chelsea, MA passed away on July 20, 2025. Harvey grew up in Chelsea and spent his career with the United States Postal Service, stationed at the Chelsea post office, until he happily retired in 2013. He was a lifelong avid Boston sports fan, but his favorite team by far was the Boston Red Sox. Harvey himself was a passionate softball player and when he no longer played, he served as a coach for his daughters’ softball teams. He was positive and encouraging in his coaching and would rally his team for ice cream at Dairy Queen after games, no matter the outcome. Harvey was as easy-going and fun-loving as they come and he never truly grew up. You could find him in shorts with a Dunkies iced coffee in hand all year round, even in the dead of winter. He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, easy laugh, the uncanny ability to run into someone he knew everywhere he went, and his signature “daddy sauce” and meatballs.
He was the beloved son and youngest child of the late Louis and Zelda Walk. He is survived by his daughters Lauren McNasby and Emily Trudeau; son-in-law Stephen Trudeau; granddaughters Arya McNasby, Madelyn McNasby, and Cordelia Trudeau; sisters Arlene Tobin and Debra Walk; brother-in-law Jerry Tobin; nieces and nephews Michael Tolin, Lisa Tolin, Larry and KC Budd, and Renee Budd; former wife Anita Walk; and his kitty Madame L’Orange. He was preceded in death by nephew Andrew Budd and his cats Roscoe and Big Al.
Graveside services will be held at the Everett Jewish Cemeteries at 232 Fuller Street in Everett, MA on Thursday, July 24 at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Harvey’s memory be made to either SeniorCare Inc., who provided great support to him in his most recent phase of life, or The Red Sox Foundation.
