After a relentless, decades-long courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, Rosemary Culliton Nehill went home to God on Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was 80 years of age.
Rosemary was born in Troy, NY on May 28, 1945, a daughter of the late John and Rose Culliton. She grew up in Troy where she was educated and graduated from Central Catholic High School. She later went on to receive her BA and M.Ed from Buffalo State University. In the summer of 1960, Rosemary met her lifelong sweetheart, William, at the corner of 15th and Hoosick Street in Troy, NY. She raised her family in Orchard Park, NY and served as a kindergarten teacher in the Frontier Central School District.
Rosemary leaves behind her devoted husband William, her loving sons William J. and Sean P., her loyal daughter-in-law Jennifer that cared for her until the very end, and her grandsons Brendan and Ryan, who cherished every minute with their Nana. She is also survived by her late cousin Jack Cosgrove’s wife Sylvia, and many, many wonderful friends.
Rosemary's family would like to thank the staff at the Providence House in Brighton for the continued care and kindness shown to Rosemary.
A Mass of Remembrance will be held in New York at a date to be determined in October.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make a memorial donation in Rosemary’s name to:
