Mrs. Marguerite “Rita” Cafiero, age 88, died Monday evening, August 21, 2006 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center of Burlington after a very brief illness. Born in Recoaro, Italy, Rita was the devoted daughter of the late Maria Luigia( Pretto) & Biaggio Zulpo. Rita has been a Woburn resident for the last 46 years, formerly of Somerville.
Rita attended mass on a regular basis and gave generously to it´s many charities. She was a longtime secretary for the United States Postal Service, working in the Boston office. She retired in 1980 after many years of service. She previously worked for Starmarket in the 1960´s.
Rita was the beloved wife of the late George Cafiero. Devoted mother of George R. Cafiero of Woburn. Loving sister of the late Renzo and Michael Zulpo. Also survived by several nieces.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Friday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodbrook Mausoleum, Woburn.
