Christopher J. Stagg, 80, of Franklin, died peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Austin) Stagg for the 52 years.
Born in Boston on June 4, 1945, he was the son of the late Dr. A. Ritchey Stagg, Sr. and Kathryn (Bolster) Stagg.
Chris was a resident of Franklin for the past 52 years. He grew up in Medfield, attended Medfield High School and graduated from Bridgeton Academy in Maine then continued his studies at North Michigan State University.
Chris proudly served in the Army for almost two years during the Vietnam Conflict where he was stationed overseas in Korea.
Before his retirement, he worked for Corning in Medfield and Siemens in Walpole for 54 years.
Chris was a lifelong New England Patriots fan and longtime season ticket holder. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially in Orrr’s Island, Maine and on Cape Cod.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kristen Brouillette and her husband Jacques of Boylston, Stephanie Stagg of Watertown, and Lauren Levesque and her husband Paul of Easton.
He is also survived by four granddaughters, Lillian, Madeline, Eva and Willa, his nephews, John, Bill, Pete, and Greg, and sisters-in law, Patricia Austin and Lois Stagg.
He was the brother of the late Nancy McCarthy and Dr. Arthur R. “Pete” Stagg, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 23 at St. Mary’s Church, One Church Square in Franklin at 10 a.m.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 22 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin ginleyfuneralhomes.com
Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
