With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eileen Therese (Lyons) Mersereau on July 14, 2025, at 87 years old. Born in the West End of Boston to Edward and Mary Lyons on September 27, 1937. In 1969, she and her husband Allen settled in South Boston to raise her family and has always considered it “home”. Eileen was an avid reader, a music lover, and a lifelong, die-hard Red Sox fan. Eileen is preceded in death by her loving husband Allen, her beloved son Mark, and her cherished first grandchild Anjelica Grace. Mother to Allen, Linda, John and Colleen, Gary, James and Lynn, and daughter-in-law Darlene.
Grandmother to Anjelica Cook, Victoria Chick, Gary Jr., Jenna, James, Miranda Partosan, James Jr., John, Carly Pierce, Mark A., Jack, Jaime, Valerie, and Mark.
“Nana Boston” to great-grandchildren Zackary, Malia, and Roselynn.
Visitation will be held at Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St, So. Boston, 02127 on Wednesday, July 23 from 4-7pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at Gate of Heaven Catholic Church at 10am, 615 East 4th St, So. Boston, 02127.
Following Mass, please join the Mersereau family at the Seapoint, 367 E 8th St, So. Boston, 02127, from 11-3pm.
