WORCESTER: Laurent E. "Larry" Walcott, 69, of 52 Country Club Blvd., formerly of St. Nicholas Ave., died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, after becoming ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Marjorie E. (Wiinikainen) Walcott; a daughter, Carol E. Audette and her fiancé John Glawson of Framingham; a stepbrother, Richard A. Thomas and his wife Doris of Millbury; 3 grandchildren, Jason, Kayla and Jeffrey; and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Marjorie Ann Walcott and a stepbrother, Eugene K. Thomas, both predeceased him. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Laurent E. Walcott and Angelina B. (Picard) Thomas Walcott.
Larry was a forklift operator at the Heald Machine Division of Cincinnati Milacron where he worked for many years, until retiring in 2002. He then worked as a school bus driver for Laidlaw Transit. He was a member of the Southern Massachusetts Police Association, a former member of the Worcester Police Auxiliary, and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he once served as an usher.
A CALLING HOUR will be held from 1 to 2 P.M. on SATURDAY, August 26, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by A FUNERAL SERVICE at 2 P.M., in the funeral home. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family, in Notre Dame Cemetery.
