Paul Ollenborger, age 86, a resident of Tewksbury for 3 years, and prior a resident in Leominster MA., passed away at his daughter’s home on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Born in the Ukraine on February 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Christian Ollenborger and the late Charlotte (Mueller) Ollenborger. The family migrated to Austria during the war and Paul lived most of his youth in this country. As a young man in Austria, he learned the trade of church painting and was very skilled as a decorative painter.
Paul came to America at age 17 with his family and learned a new trade at Wentworth Institute as a Tool and Die Maker and later specialized in mold making. He always had side jobs throughout his life as a painter and handyman, and was known to family and friends as the go-to person when you needed something fixed.
Paul raised four children who admired him and loved him. He was a very caring, loving Opa to ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He will live long in the hearts of all.
Paul was a resident of The Villa at Meadowview and an active member of the Tewksbury Senior Center, where he played pool weekly and was a member of the Shuffleboard team. He also belonged to the Wamesit Bowling League "Stars and Strikes." He was a very active person to the end of his life and will always be remembered for his competitive spirit.
He is survived by his children, Linda A. DuLong and her husband Bobby, Lisa M. Ollenborger, Kim S. Benouski and her husband John, and Christian P. Ollenborger: grandchildren, Casey R. and Jeremy S. DuLong, Daniel J. Rivers, Jr., Shelby L. and Olivia M. Rivers, Evan M. and Paige R. Dowd, Jake D. Benouski, and Austin P. and Maxwell P. Ollenborger: great grandchildren, Riley M. Rivers and Isaiah Graham, Jr.. Paul was the brother of John Ollenborger and his late wife Nancy, Anna Groemmer and her late husband Otto, the late Emma Wolf and her surviving husband George, the late Berta Ollenborger, the late Lydia Pushkey, the late Karl Ollenborger and the late Wilhelm Ollenborger. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Paul was the longtime companion of the late Elaine McNally Ganong.
Family and friends will be received on Friday July 18, 2025 from 4- 6:30 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers. Donations in his memory may be made payable to Friends of the Elderly and mailed to the Tewksbury Senior Center, 175 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
