Anna (Capone) Vitale passed peacefully at her home in Medford, MA. Anna was loved and cherished for her kind and warm demeanor, her witty personality, and dedication to family.
Born in the North End of Boston to Italian immigrants in 1928, Anna was a drum major for the Sacred Heart Church Band when she was a teenager. She married Michael Vitale and raised three children. After Michael's death, she had several happy years of marriage with Frank Vitale. If there was a motherhood competition, she would have finished in first place year after year. She enjoyed surrounding herself with family and friends and cooking and feeding them immense amounts of food. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and cruise vacations with her family. A true lover of baseball, she was a dedicated Red Sox Fan who enjoyed watching the Sox even when the team was not in contention.
Anna loved to cook and bake character birthday cakes for her grandchildren. You could never visit her without having to eat something, even if you weren't hungry. She loved sweets and her favorite food had to be anything with sugar in it. If she had her way, dinner would start with dessert and not an entree.
Anna was the beloved wife of the late Michael Vitale and Frank Vitale. She was the devoted mother of Michael Vitale and his wife Kathleen, Stephanie Regan and her partner John Gullage, and the late Bridget Vitale and Pasquale “Pat” Vitale. Anna was the loving grandmother of Frank Regan and his wife Kerrianne, Elizabeth Vitale and her wife Claire Andersen, Philip Regan and his wife Raquel, Anna Fagan and her husband Joseph, and Nathan, Aubrey and Justin Vitale. She was the great grandmother of Briana, Owen and Kate, and the dear sister of Alma Cimetti. Anna is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
