Martha A. Leland, 83, of North Brookfield died Friday, July 11th in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. She leaves a brother, Paul Leland of Webster; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Gaboury and Fay Rose.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Melia) Leland. Martha graduated from the former Ascension High School and continued her education at Burbank College. She dedicated much of her career to Fallon Clinic, where she began as an administrator and through years of hard work and commitment, rose to become the Director of Internal Medicine. She retired from Fallon Clinic in 2008.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Martha was known for her love of reading, cooking, and traveling. She held a special fondness for California, where she lived for ten years and returned to visit often.
She will be remembered for her warmth, curiosity, and the joy she brought to those around her.
Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15th in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester in Section Prince of Peace. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting the family with arrangements.
