Velma Joyce Hobby, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Mrs. Hobby was born March 10, 1948, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Robert Crowe & Mary Nancy Peterson Adkison. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hobby enjoyed reading and working in the yards.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet & Glenn Farmer of Vancleave, Mississippi; two sisters: Oneta Grice and Faye & Jim Harden, all of Fitzgerald; and two brothers: Tommy & Suzanne Adkison of Fitzgerald and Gordon & Dianne Adkison of Cordele. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hobby.
