Phyllis Rita Bono, 86

Phyllis Rita (Rogazzo) Bono, age 86, of South Yarmouth, formerly of Readville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Accent Care Inpatient Hospice Center in Milton. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Anthony Bono, to whom she was wed for over forty-five years at the time of his death on January 27, 2015.
Born in Boston, MA on June 19, 1939, she was a loving daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Frances (Imbaro) Rogazzo.
Phyllis grew up in the Readville neighborhood of Boston and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. She had made her home in South Yarmouth for over twenty years and was a former longtime resident of Readville.
Mrs. Bono proudly earned her Insurance Brokers License and prior to retiring had worked as a Broker for the Boylston Insurance Agency in Dedham and was previously employed at the former Thomas Curran Insurance Agency in Hyde Park.
Phyllis’s family, whom she loved dearly, was truly the focal point of her life. She was an avid reader and while living on Cape Cod, loved spending time at the beach and playing miniature golf with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gail Lucy Ricci and her husband Joe of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Joe, Jessica and James Ricci. She was the dear sister of the late Raymond Rogazzo and his late wife Tina Rogazzo and the late Evelyn Spears, who is survived by her husband Kenny Spears of Marlboro, formerly of Hudson. She was the much-loved cousin of Annette Arena of Canton. She was the sister-in-law of Marie Marchese of Everett, Sheila Bono of Malden and Ann Bono and her husband Michael Brooks of Braintree. She is also survived by her adoring nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, July 14th from 10:00-11:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation on Monday at 11:30 at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue in Bourne.
Due to the limitation of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, Phyllis’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Stroke Foundation, 6405 Metcalf Avenue, Suite 214, Overland Park, Kansas 66202.
