HOLLIS- Elaine J. MacDonald Duguay passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 6, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born on October 17, 1930, in Fort Edward, NY to Newell MacDonald and Eletha VanDusen MacDonald.
On April 8, 1951, she married Joseph “Leo” Duguay and together they built a life full of love, laughter and family.
Elaine was a master of crafts. Whether knitting, crocheting or sewing, her hands were always busy creating beautiful things. She made many prom and wedding dresses throughout the years. She also made beautiful quilts and afghan blankets and always gifted them to whomever wanted one.
Elaine spent many summers at her camp in Stony Creek, NY, and after living most of her life in Corinth, NY, she spent the last year and a half in Maine.
She enjoyed peaceful days watching deer in the backyard, playing spirited games of scrabble, going shopping, leisurely country drives, dining out and
playing with any dog who came to visit.
Elaine was the proud mother of six children, a devoted grandmother, a cherished great-grandmother and a beloved great-great-grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leo; her son, Gary Duguay; her sisters Shirley Boivin and Rita Tremaine; and her son-in-law, Doug Bordeaux.
She is survived by her children: Denise Bordeaux, Darlene Duguay, Amie Cole, Joel Duguay and Diane Morgan, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a special lady who will be missed by many.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
