Obituary

Robert Kenneth Wysocki, a beloved father, respected scholar, and pioneer in the field of project management, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 3, 2025 at the age of 83. Born on November 20, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Robert was the son of the late Theodore and Eleanor Wysocki. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Kathleen Wysocki.

Robert’s life was defined by a deep love of family and a passion for learning and teaching. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Dallas before pursuing his Master’s and Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from Southern Methodist University.

Over the course of a remarkable 55-year career, Robert distinguished himself as a leader in project management, serving 20 years in academic administration and 25 years as a consultant to businesses and institutions across the country. His work left a lasting impact on organizations such as Walmart, Wells Fargo, Ohio State University, Bentley College, Sapient, Converse Shoes, and Texas Instruments. A prolific writer and educator, Robert authored 25 books on project and IT management and developed curricula for more than 25 academic and corporate courses, helping to shape generations of professionals in the field.

Robert’s proudest accomplishments, however, were found in the lives of those he loved. He is survived by his brother, Timothy Wysocki of Jacksonville, Florida, and his cherished children: Michael Wysocki and his wife Michele; Leica Turner and her husband Stephen; Jennifer Fiorentino and her husband Michael; Alease Hunt and her husband Ken; and John Wysocki and his wife Jennifer. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Lauren, Alison, Aaron, Casey, Ethan, Jordan, Sam, Kyra, Joshua, and Sawyer, as well as a great grandchild Dallas.

A private service will be held in celebration of Robert’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in his name to an educational organization or charity of your choice.
