Dorothy A. (Prior) Adams, 74, of East Bridgewater, passed away on July 6, 2025, at Brockton Hospital, following health complications related to a previous heart attack.
Born in Brockton on August 21, 1950, and raised in Whitman, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Leo and Virginia (King) Prior.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Adams. Married in 1968, they shared many happy years together.
Dorothy worked at various companies over the years, including Cape Cod Cricket Lane and Mueller’s Corporation.
Affectionately known as “Dottie,” she was a creative soul who loved arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed crafting with her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. Dottie also found joy in playing card games and doing puzzles. Above all, her happiest moments were spent with family and friends, sharing laughter and creating memories with those she loved most.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sherry Adams; her grandchildren, Dominic Adams, Kaylee Young, and Hannah Young; and her great-granddaughter, Amayah Adams. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Pierce, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Julie Adams.
Dorothy’s smile and laughter were infectious—she could light up any room. She will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend Dorothy’s visiting hours on Friday, July 11th from 4:00-7:00 PM with a funeral service immediately following at 7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
Burial will take place at a later date.
