Stanley R. Podzycki, age 74, recently of Dracut, a former longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Saturday, July 5, 2025
He was the beloved husband of Denise (Viola) Podzycki, with whom he celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on August 20th 2024.
Born in Cambridge on February 28, 1951, he was the son of the late Stanley J. Podzycki and the late Yvette A. (Bouchard) (Podzycki) Prophet.
Stan was raised in Cambridge and Medford. He attended local schools and graduated from Medford Vocational High School in 1969.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a machinist for several area companies including the New Tool Company in Wilmington and Analog Devices Company.
He was an active member of the Dracut Senior Center, where he enjoyed weekly cribbage games and entertaining fellow members by playing his guitar.
Stan also enjoyed participating in the bowling league at the Woburn Bowladrome in Woburn, MA and traveling with his wife on cruises.
In addition to his wife Denise, he leaves his daughter, Ashley A. Harkins and her husband Ryan, of Exeter, NH: his granddaughter, Kimberly E. Harkins. Stan was the brother of Linda Dube and her husband Michael, of Billerica, and the late Diana M. Podzycki. He was the son-in-law of Louise A. Viola and the late Salvatore J. Viola, of Tewksbury: brother-in-law of James J. Viola and his wife Judith, of Tewksbury, John J. Viola and his wife Lorraine, of Canton, Edward G. Viola and his wife Jeanette, of Nashua, NH and the late Ronald F. Viola and his surviving husband, James Crowley, of Billerica. He leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 10, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Prayers for Stan will be offered at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
