Obituary

Ciriaco Fabbo passed away peacefully, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family at his Medford home on July 1st. He was 86. Born and raised in Torre Le Nocelle, Avellino, Italy, he was the son the late Angelo and Rebecca (Cirignano) Fabbo.

Ciriaco was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He came to the United States in 1965 to start a new life with the love of his life, Adua, initially residing in Boston's North End. In 1970 they moved to Medford, where they established their family home. He provided for his family by being a hard working carpenter who did great work and was meticulous with details, a true perfectionist. Ciriaco was very devoted to San Ciriaco, the patron saint of his hometown in Italy, and arranged for a Mass to be celebrated twice a year in the North End in honor of the saint. Ciriaco was a true family man - he loved spending time with his wife and the entire family. He was the great encourager and attended many sporting events of his children and grandchildren. For fun he enjoyed dancing, singing, listening to music, participating in a bowling league, and he never left home without dressing in style.

The beloved husband of Adua (Capone) Fabbo, he was the devoted father of Rebecca Costa and her husband Rick, Angela Iannuzzi and her husband Paul, Duilio "Lelo" Fabbo and his wife Laurie, and Anita Cafarelli and her husband Robert. He was a loving grandfather to Christina, Cayla, Rick, Daniella, PJ, Michael, Christopher, Thomas, Angela, Cody, Joey, Nicholas, Anthony, Natalia, and Sabrina. Ciriaco was predeceased by his late brothers and sisters, who remained in Italy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, July 7 from 4 – 8 PM, and again on Tuesday, July 8 at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ciriaco’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Northeast (New England), P.O. Box 22470, New York, NY 10087-2470.
