Priscilla (Young) King, 99 of Westwood, formerly of Walpole , died June 30 at her home. She was the wife of the late John W. King who died in 2005.
Born in Walpole, December 5,1925, the daughter of the late Clifford and Gertrude (Boyden) Young, Priscilla grew up as a “farmer’s daughter” in Walpole during the Depression.
Pricilla was a graduate of Walpole High School and also a graduate of Framingham State College.
Following college, she moved to Boston to become a dance instructor and that is where she met her husband, John. They were married after just six months of knowing each other and were happily married for over 40 years until John’s death.
Priscilla will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity to others. She was a volunteer candy striper at Norwood Hospital for many years .
You could not ask for a better mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother or friend.
We will miss her every day but her memory will live on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Priscilla is survived by her son Gary King of Norwood and her daughter Jill Hurwitz of Manchester .
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dan and Andrea and her great-grandchildren, Theo, Ella, Molly and Cooper.
A private graveside service will be held .
