Atty. James F. Mulrooney of Dedham, formerly of Naples, FL and West Harwich, died August 21, 2006 in West Roxbury. He was 79. Mr. Mulrooney was born in Boston in 1926 and was the son of the late John J. and Bridget (Barrett) Mulrooney. He was a graduate of Boston College, class of 1952 and Suffolk Law School. A World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army, he went on to become a self employed Attorney and practiced law for many years. He was a member of the Boston College Club and the Naples Elks Club. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia R. (Burke) Mulrooney. He was the devoted father of James F. Mulrooney Jr. of Hyde Park, Sara Mulrooney of Arlington, VA and John B. Mulrooney of Watertown. Brother of Joan Buckley of Cohasset, Marie Gillis of West Roxbury, and the late John Mulrooney and Kay Vozzella.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Friday at 9:00 AM. Funeral mass in St. Ignatius Church, Chestnut Hill, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
