Retired Boston Police Officer, Vincent D. "Vinny" Kelly, a 52-year resident of Milton and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 95 years of age.
Vinny was born in Boston on June 14, 1930, a son of the late Daniel W. Kelly and Agnes V. (Murphy) Kelly. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated. Vinny enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on February 19, 1952, and served his country valiantly and with courage during the Korean Conflict where he was wounded in action on July 24, 1953, and received the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on February 20, 1954, with the rank of Private First Class.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Vinny's Funeral on Monday, JULY 14, 2025, at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will take place at Milton Cemetery, Milton. His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, JULY 13, 2025, from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. in the funeral home.
