John Edward Celia, 76, of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 26, 2025. Born in and a lifelong resident of Brockton, he was the son of the late Albion and Marion (Walsh) Celia. John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley (Bonamici) Celia, in 2013.
A lifelong resident of Brockton, John graduated from Brockton High School and then went to work at the family business, Walsh’s Dairy Farm on Oak Street until the farm’s closure, when he then joined Garber Brothers, where he worked in the distribution department until his retirement. He also served in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Turner of Brockton; his grandson, Alexander Forbes of Portland, Maine; and his cousins, Kathleen LaMont of Brockton , Margaret Verville of Raymond, NH and Marie Enos of South Dennis, Massachusetts.
Visitation will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 9-10am, followed by a Funeral Service at 10am. Interment will take place at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl Street, Brockton.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans in John’s memory.
