Shrewsbury – Mr. Arthur P. “ Frenchy” French Jr., 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
Arthur was born on February 18, 1938, in Worcester, a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Dadah) French.
A lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, Arthur was educated through the Shrewsbury School System. Upon graduation, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam period.
Arthur most recently worked as a custodian for the Worcester Public Schools up until his retirement in 2020.
He was an avid runner and fitness guru spending many hours in the gym. His great conditioning led to him running many marathons including Boston and Washington, D.C.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Josephine (Ritacco) French; a son, Bob French; a sister, Linda Lambert; and a brother, Charles French and his wife Nancy.
Arthur was pre-deceased by his sister, Patricia Brunelle.
Relatives and friends are invited to Arthur’s visitation on Wednesday, July 2nd at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch Street Worcester, from 9:00am to 10:30am.
