Obituary

Paul David O’Malley, of West Roxbury, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 57, surrounded by and in the thoughts and prayers of loving family and friends after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Paul, the youngest of five siblings, son of the late Sally A. (Golding) and Thomas J. O’Malley, was born June 15, 1968, in Boston, MA. He grew up in Roslindale, MA, and graduated from Catholic Memorial High School, class of ‘86. Paul was most recently employed at the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Paul enjoyed traveling, spending summers on Cape Cod, and fishing on the “American Pride” with his lifelong friends. He was an active member of the West Roxbury Knights of Columbus and was loved by many in the West Roxbury and Roslindale Community. Paul was a diehard Boston sports fan, and a season ticket holder for the New England Patriots.

Beloved brother of Thomas O’Malley, Louise O’Malley, Patricia Furey, and Leigh Anne (Paul) Fitzgerald, and the late Joseph E. O’Malley. Loving partner of Kelly Bavis and children Mark and Bridget Morrissey. Loving uncle of his cherished nieces and nephews Lauren and Michael Baryski, Brian and Colleen Furey, and Sean, Catherine, and Caroline Fitzgerald.

Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Tuesday, July 1st at 9 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church at 10 o'clock. Visiting hours Monday, June 30th from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Paul O’Malley to support cancer research and patient care at:
