Kathryn Wynell Wetherington Godwin, 78, of Enigma passed away Thursday, June 26, 205, at Southwell Health and Rehab Center in Adel. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Godwin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at Enigma Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. James Irions will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Godwin’s family members will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 2, 1947, in Tifton, Mrs. Godwin was the daughter of the late Elzie J. Wetherington and Mildred Jackson Wetherington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James V. “Pete” Godwin; and one sister, Linda Wetherington. Before retiring, she worked for Burlen Corporation and enjoyed taking care of her family as a homemaker. She was a member of Barnes Chapel in Enigma.
Mrs. Godwin is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Christie Godwin of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Eddie Gibbs of Scooterville and Tammy and Dave Gibbs of Ty Ty; six grandchildren and their spouses, Madison and Adam Hester, Marlie Spivey, Colton Douglas, Emery and Daniel Barnes, JD Gibbs and Austin and Ashley Hall; and six great-grandchildren.
