Stephen J. Norris, age 61, of Malden, formerly of Winchester and Melrose, passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2025. He was the son of the late Richard F. and Maryalice (Rehm) Norris.
Born, raised and educated in Winchester, Stephen was a graduate of Lexington Christian Academy. He attended the University of Northern Colorado and spent the majority of his career in the hospitality industry. A longtime bartender, he was employed at Bellini’s in North Conway. He also worked at T.G.I. Fridays, where he spent many years in management and training, a position which brought him to Titusville, Florida. He ultimately switched gears to the grocery and supermarket business and moved back up the east coast where he worked for Whole Foods in Melrose. In his spare time, Stephen was an avid reader who, from a young age, could be found immersed in books of just about any genre. He was also an enthusiastic outdoorsman and enjoyed skiing and hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and enjoyed playing video games.
Stephen is survived by his siblings: Sheryl Norris of Malden and Richard “Rick” Norris, Jr. of WV. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Peter, Kyle and his wife Hillary, Ryan and his wife Brittny, Michael and Chad Norris, and was also the great-uncle of Willa Jane, Artemus Wynnston, Reign and Ezra Norris. His nephew, Patrick Norris, predeceased him. He was also the dear nephew of the late Deborah R. (Norris) Matthew.
A Graveside Service in Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester is being planned and will be announced shortly.
