MCLEAN, VA – Christine Caplette O’Malley passed away peacefully at her home on December 19, 2024, surrounded by prayer, love and family.
She leaves her beloved daughter and caregiver Christine O’Malley Fisher to cherish her memory. Additional survivors include her brother-in-law Martin O’Malley, goddaughter Marie Eisenberg, and a host of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss her dearly.
Chris was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, William J. O’Malley, her devoted son-in-law Sam R. Fisher LCDR, USN (Ret.), her adored goddaughter Louise C. Eisenberg, and her cherished parents and 13 siblings.
Christine Noella Caplette was born on Christmas Day, 1925 in Webster, MA to the late Felix and Marie (Dusaume) Caplette. She lived in Webster and Dudley, MA until 1986 when she relocated to McLean to be closer to family. In true fashion Chris immediately adjusted to her new life in Virginia. When she was not traveling the world (all 7 continents) or playing Bridge at the Country Club, she was sailing on Chesapeake Bay with her daughter and son-in-law. She always said “Life is Beautiful.”
Chris was a devout Catholic who thanked God for all her blessings and encouraged her family to do the same. Her legacy of strength, grace and love will live in the hearts of her family forever.
The family kindly requests prayers in Chris’ name.
Services were held privately. Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster assisted the family.
