Louise Parrish Harper, 92, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Sunday, August 20, 2006, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, August 24, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla, with Rev. Ed Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ocilla from 7-9 Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Harper was born July 11, 1914, in Wilcox County, to the late John William and Susie Jane Paulk Parrish. She lived most of her life in Ocilla and for the past ten years, lived with her daughter in Albany. Mrs. Harper was a former employee of Walker’s 5 & 10 store in Ocilla, the Irwin County Hospital and a former dispatcher for the police and sheriff’s departments in Ocilla, a former employee of Ocilla Pharmacy and a former employee of Armor Packing Company in Tifton.. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Home Demonstration Club and a member of Pinetta Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harper is survived by her daughter: Lurene H. Justice of Albany; son and daughter-in-law: Pearlie & Bobbie Harper of Ocala, Fl; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brother: Harold Parrish of Irwinville; sisters: Reatha Rawlins of Barnesville, Vera Holston of Americus and Carolyn Hester of Jackson; sisters-in-law: Lurene Parrish of Ocilla and Ernestine Parrish of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Harper, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinetta Baptist Church, Big Creek Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
