Mary Gene (Angove) Bureau, 68, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025 in the comfort of her home.
Mary Gene was a lifelong resident of Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence E. Angove Jr. and Lillian D. (O’Neil) Angove.
She spent her entire working career as a beloved daycare provider out of her home in Lowell, touching the lives of countless children and their families. Her daycare wasn’t just a job—it was her passion and her purpose. Every child she cared for became part of her extended family, and she gave each one her whole heart.
In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping, playing cards, going to the beach and yard saling.
She is survived by her loving partner, Paul Bishop of Boston; Jerry Landry of Lowell; her daughter, Christine Landry and her partner John Lipomi of Lowell; her son, Real Bureau and his wife, Haley, of Lowell; her brother, William Angove Sr, and her sister, Carol Martineau, both of Lowell; her grandchildren, John McCarthy and his wife Nicole of Hudson NH, Makayla Landry of Methuen, Makenzie Bureau of Manchester; Royal Bureau of Dracut and Cameron Douai and her great-granddaughters, Hallie and Lennox McCarthy. She also leaves behind her brother and sisters-in-law, Brenda Angove of Lowell, Joseph Baril of Lowell, Susan Angove of Lowell, Christine Angove of Dracut and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Mary Gene was predeceased by her siblings Janice Reis, Donna Maker, Judith Baril, John ‘Jack’ Angove, George Angove Sr, and Lawrence Angove III, her sister in law Laura Angove and her brother in law Brian Reis.
Mary Gene leaves behind a legacy of care and love that will live on through the many lives she touched and she will be deeply missed.
All are welcome to attend her calling hours on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. Her funeral will begin on Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her funeral mass at 12 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack Street, Lowell, MA.
