SARAH M. QUIMBY - JUNE 16, 1934 – JUNE 8, 2025

Sarah M. (Waddell) Doucette, Voles, Quimby 90 of Methuen MA died on June 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill MA. She was 8 days shy of her 91st birthday. She was the beloved wife of Melvin Quimby until his passing in February 2021. Sarah was also the former wife of the late Eugene Doucette and the late Benjamin Voles.

Sarah was born in Camden NJ to the late David and Margaret (Hind) Waddell. She was the sister to the late Susan Swanson Biggs. Sarah worked as a preschool teacher in the early 1970’s at Millbrook Day School in Wilmington. She later worked in the courtesy booth at Market Basket in Woburn and then went on to work as the receptionist at the Market Basket corporate office in Tewksbury until her retirement. She lived in Wilmington and Tewksbury while raising her family and later shared her time between St. Augustine Florida and Hubbardston MA.

Sarah had an infectious smile and was a friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox, traveling, reading, painting, yoga and especially the beach. Sarah always went above and beyond for her family and she cherished their time together and the unconditional love she shared with them all.

Sarah leaves her five children, sons, Eugene Doucette and his wife Debbie of Wakefield, David Doucette and his wife Linda of Wilmington, Anthony Voles and his wife Angie of Southern Pines NC, and daughters, Lorna Lovell and her partner Kevin Buswell of Methuen and Lisa Kennedy of Chelmsford.

She was also “Granny” to 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the staff at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill for their care and compassion.

Services for Sarah will be held privately.
