Daniel M. Piscione, 74, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, June 21st, peacefully with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Francesca M. (DiLazzaro) Piscione. They were married for 49 and a half years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Viola (Papitto) Piscione. Dan was a lifelong resident of Cranston, where he lived for over 70 years. He worked as a Case Manager and Accounting Clerk for BHDDH, State of Rhode Island, before retiring in 2008 after 26 years of service.
In retirement, Dan embraced his favorite role—“Papa.” He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, playing, laughing, and supporting them through all of their activities. He was immensely proud to see each of them graduate from high school and will forever be their biggest cheerleader. In recent years, he also worked at Dollar Tree, where he found joy in making new friends and brightening customers’ days.
Dan had many passions. He loved gardening, cooking, singing, dancing, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers every Sunday. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Salvatore Piscione and his wife Jennifer of Cranston; Sandra Elliott and her husband Kevin of Greenville; and Daniel Piscione II of Cranston. He was the proud grandfather of Valerie, Kayla, Nick, Chris, Jonathan, and Vanessa. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Luna. Dan was the brother of the late Sandra A. Martellucci.
Family and friends are invited to share memories at a Celebration of Life to be held on Monday, June 30th, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Cucina Rustica, 555 Atwood Avenue, Cranston.
