Thomas Christopher Plant, a proud family man and devoted friend to many, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2025.
Born in Boston, MA, Thomas was the beloved son of the late Raymond Henry Plant of Beverly and Archangela Rose Plant (Santilli) of Boston. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1972, and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army where he fought in Vietnam, and as a member of the Merchant Marine.
Thomas spent much of his working life in many fields as a crane operator, heavy machine operator, laborer, including years of hard work as a tunnel worker with Local 88. A man who never shied away from hard work, he was proud of his blue-collar roots and took great pride in everything he did.
A true patriot, Thomas held his Catholic faith close to his heart and carried his love of God, family, and country with him throughout his life. He was a man of great humor, always ready with a story or a song, and he never missed a chance to make someone laugh. Thomas had a passion for boxing, enjoyed working on cars, and found joy in cooking. Of all his roles in life, being “Pop-Pop” to his granddaughter Alanna was his greatest honor.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Jean Plant of Brockton, MA, and the loving father of Christopher Plant and his
wife Madison Plant of Hudson, MA; Victoria Plant of East Bridgewater, MA; and Kathleen Plant and her partner Andrew Tamburello of Ocala, FL. He was the cherished grandfather of Alanna Tamburello of Ocala, FL.
He is also survived by his brother Silvio Plant of Boynton Beach, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his brothers Eugene Plant of Quincy, MA, and Anthony Plant of Plymouth, MA.
Thomas’s warmth, humor, and kindness touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives were brightened by his laughter and love.
Visitation will be held at Casper Funeral Home,187 Dorchester St, South Boston, MA. on Sunday, June 29 from 1:00-3:00P.m.
Burial will be private.
