Richard Steven Mullin, 86, of Needham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 14, 1939, Richard was the son of the late Hugh and Anna (Highland) Mullin. He graduated from Bentley University and proudly served in the U.S. Army before beginning his career at NCR. He later went on to found Sales Register Systems, combining his entrepreneurial spirit with a deep understanding of business technology.
Richard was a scratch golfer. He grew up on Clyde Street in Brookline, across the street from The Country Club, where he spent many summers caddying, and establishing his life long interest in golf.
Richard was married for 63 years to his beloved wife, Donna Marie Beshara Mullin.
He is survived by Donna and their three children: Jennifer (Mullin) Aimaro and her husband Frank Aimaro, Jeffrey Mullin and his partner Rebecca Beeson, Richard Mullin and his wife Leesa (Nagorny) Mullin. He was a devoted grandfather to Luke Aimaro, Robby Mullin and Kate Mullin. Richard is also survived by his in-laws, David and Bette Beshara and many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his sisters Barbara Cusick, Mary Gately, Claire Mullin, Ann Mullin, Louise Remington and brothers Paul Mullin, Hugh Mullin and Leo Mullin.
Richard will be remembered for his warm and outgoing nature—he never met a stranger—as well as his deep interest in others, sharp mind, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Services and burial will be private.
