In Loving Memory of Karl Alexander Borg
With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karl Alexander Borg (fondly known as Alex), a caring son, a devoted husband and father, cherished family member, and beloved friend, who left us peacefully on June 18, 2025.
Born on January 25, 1970, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Alex was the son of George Borg and Eileen Liedholm. He spent his childhood in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and later in Lake Forest, Illinois, before completing his middle and high school years in Charlottesville, Virginia. While completing his undergraduate studies in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he developed a strong passion for computing, which led him to work with several companies, including Iron Crown and New Century.
Throughout his life, Alex embodied kindness, strength, and an unwavering capacity to love. He was a son whose heart always held space for his mother—thoughtful in word, tender in action, and deeply cared without needing to be asked. His care showed up in the everyday moments: in the way he called just to check in, in how he listened patiently to her stories, and in the quiet ways he made sure she felt seen, valued, and loved. To her, he wasn’t just a son—he was a source of comfort, pride, and joy. A reflection of the love she poured into him, shining right back.
As the beloved husband of Anny Borg. Their love lives in the simple things: a knowing glance across the room, the warmth of a hand held in silence, the daily acts of care that speak louder than grand gestures. It is in the laughter that fills their home, the tears they’ve wiped from each other’s cheeks, and the way they always return to one another, no matter what the world brings. This love is rare, enduring, and true. Within their marriage, these two soulmates built a life rich with dedication, anchored by deep companionship, and strengthened by unwavering devotion.
Alex was the kind of father whose love didn't need to be spoken aloud to be felt. He didn’t just raise his daughters—he nurtured them, and he made sure to be there for every milestone in their lives, and to be the biggest fan of his girls. He listened closely, encouraged freely, and protected fiercely. His children were the apple of his eye. He built a home where they felt safe, and cherished. He showed them how to stand tall, not by demanding perfection, but by living with integrity and love.
As the youngest in the family, Alex quickly learned that growing up with older siblings was less about peace and more about survival. His days were filled with wild adventures—like being “volunteered” to stay in the dark during games, or jumping out of his skin when one of his brothers unleashed their legendary wolf howl from the shadows. It was sibling love... with just a hint of mischief.
He was known not only for his gentle spirit and quick wit, but for the way he made those around him feel truly seen, supported, and valued. Whether through a quiet word of encouragement or a simple act of generosity, he touched countless lives. His integrity, humility, and unshakeable loyalty were evident in all that he did.
A man of many passions, Alex loved cooking, sailing, nature, hard rock music, and reading. A self-proclaimed “foodie,” he had a special love for foraging and preparing meals for his family. He cherished the little things—moments and talks with his family, cracking jokes with friends, and lending a hand without ever being asked.
He is survived by his mother, Eileen Liedholm; his wife, Anny Borg; his daughters, Georgianna Borg and Jacquelyn Borg; his siblings, Rick Borg, Bill Liedholm Jr., Christie Peterson, and Eric Liedholm; cherished pets Thor and Rey; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Borg; his brother, Stephen Mancini; his sister, Tammy Borg; and his stepfather, Bill Liedholm.
Alex will be remembered for his tender heart, sharp mind, generous spirit, and his infectious sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held on June 22, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Casper Funeral & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Alex’s honor to Tufts Liver Transplantation - Patient Fund or Hospitality Homes.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Alex’s love remains—steady, strong, and eternal.
