Penny Faich MacDonald, of Pawtucket, RI—a radiant soul and gifted artist—passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by her family.
Penny was the beloved wife of Donald MacDonald, with whom she shared 36 years filled with love and partnership. She was a devoted mother to Rick Faich and his wife Karen, Scott MacDonald, and Shawn MacDonald and his wife Colleen, along with her four cherished grandchildren.
A true creative spirit, Penny expressed her passion through many artistic forms, but it was in glasswork that her brilliance truly shone. Her art reflected not only her immense talent, but also her deep love for the vibrant community of fellow artists and dear friends who inspired her throughout her life.
She was also a dedicated and active member of the Jewish community, where she found both spiritual meaning and lasting friendships. Her involvement brought her great pride and allowed her to contribute in ways that reflected her values, compassion, and deep sense of belonging.
And of course, no portrait of Penny would be complete without mention of Lucy, her beloved cat and constant companion. The rest of us may have been family, but Lucy was royalty—and Penny wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Penny’s warmth, creativity, and generous heart touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered not only for her artistry and community devotion, but for the love she gave so freely.
A memorial service to celebrate Penny’s life and art will be held at a later date.
