STEEP FALLS- Gene Andrew Johnson, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Rhode Island, on November 23, 1955, a son of the late Robert and Pauline Johnson. He graduated from Bonny Eagle High School in 1975 and retired from Westbrook School Department as a custodian.
He is predeceased by his high school sweetheart, Barbara (Budroe) Johnson, and survived by current wife, Gail B Johnson.
Gene loved riding his bike, watching western films, classic cars, Queen Anne cherries, and spending time watching his grandchildren’s sports. His motto was “Live on two wheels!”
He is predeceased by his brother James Small, and sister Brenda Ford.
Gene is survived by his daughters-Nicole Howard and significant other Shane Brannigan, Ashley Calvert and her husband Nick Calvert; five grandchildren- Taylor, Julia, Blake, Tucker, and Bobby; siblings- Lisa Johnson Peakall, Paula Merrifield, Alan and Kathy Johnson, Patrick Malone and significant other Hazel, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 3rd from 5 - 7 Pm the Chad E Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road, Buxton. A service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home.
